D-DAY 2006
Invasion Of Normandy!
World Record Game

The biggest game ever with a grand total of

4008 Players!!!

A great victory was won by the Allies forces this year. With a total of 79,275 points over the Germans 56,575 points, their was only one thing to do!

Also, one other mentionable thing was the highest score ever by the French of 27,400 points. The Airborne drop was held till 12:45 to give a little more game play at the beach. This, however, failed again. Last year, the beach was captured in 28 minutes with a coresponding allied drop. This year, 13 MINUTES without us!

My game started out slow. Our crew inserted and landed near a fuel dump. We spent the first 1 1/2 hours in the poring rain guarding the dump which, to make matters worse, was in the middle of a swamp. Z-SWAMP to be exact, located in the rear corner of the field. It was uneventful until 2 Gremans wandered in towards our lines. Half a second later, they ran away covered in paint, none of which was mine. As careful as I was, water got into the BAR. The first ball chopped and the second was swelled in the feed neck. Jeff covered for me. The whole time we were their, we were in earshot and in our site of the Tyrell Corp. They were a 4th party entity that had only one purpose, to make a profit. Basically, they would shoot anyone that came near. I held a Lieutenant card this year. I sent Justin and Jeff on a Fuel barrel mission. They came back with 4 barrels and 2 more guys. After racking up a couple thousand points for our team we decided to head out and back to camp to get some water. (Did I mention it was about 90* there.) We crossed several bridges and unfortunatly ran into the Gremans near a empty fuel dump. We moved in on the small group and set an ambush. As if the chopped ball wasn't bad enough, my remote line deceided to stop feeding air. I tried to fire about 5 times but nothing. Jeff gave me covering fire and we fell back. I got the air flowing and was back in the game. They tried to flank us when out of nowhere a whole squad of our guys attacked the Gremans. We moved out again and ran right back into more Gremans down the road near Pointe de la Percee. We were wiped out. 3 vs. 1000. Not in out favor.

The gremans were getting ready for us. I even caught them practicing their surrender!

Once we loaded the boats....

And the U.S.S. New Jersey bombarded the coastline....

We hit the beaches....

There wasn't a lot of places to put 2000 troops...

The bagpiper played during the landing.

That night, to get things motivated, I went out with my Impulse and unloaded hell on the Germans. 1000 rounds of glow in the dark paint on full auto! Unfortunatly, it wasen't field paint so it didn't count as hits, but it was impressive. It got a little charge going. The next day, as always, the Germans swept the beach and pushed us back.

However, this year, we had the secret weapon!!!

We stopped them cold!
We had a nice spot this year. It was right behind the check-in pavilion which was near, well, everything.

As far as the costume contest, I beat ALMOST all the X-Men, a dozen 2nd Rangers (No joke, their were atleast 12), a NAZI officer and a pile of German soldiers.

I did lose to Phenix - a hot chick that did a flaming baton routine, and a naked chick in a shower(who turned out to not be naked). Every judge told me that I had their vote, but their was nothing I could do against a hot chick when the deciding vote was a panel of 4000, many of which were guys. Hey, she had my vote. I did win a BT-4 Ironhorse. No complaints from me.

I had so much fun this year. Everyone was taking my picture. (I put everything on and walked around A LOT!) The BAR was a bigger hit than the uniform. I had to explain it so many times that I should of made fliers. I took it to the Tippmann trailer but they didn't seem too impressed. There just jealous!.
