What's this?

Is that an APEX on the BAR?

YES!

After last years disappointing performance by the BAR, I decided to upgrade. A new APEX barrel and removal of the bipod will give it better range and make it lighter. I have to fix a few things, make a new part or two and finish it with a new coat of paint.

Well, life never goes as planned. Married life is great but due to issues beyond our control, the tight budget has turned into a strangle hold. Also, the snow is starting to fly and the garage is really cold. Therefore, the tank projest is shut down till next year. I hope to have things straightened out by April and I'll resume construction. (Well, I'll resume construction anyways. I still have some materials left.) For now, I'll be working in CAD. There's still quite a few things I need to figure out. Here's what I have so far.

I'll post anything new that comes about. The pics of ION 09' are up and I'll start working on the videos soon.

Project Update
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: What's going on?

Well, It's official. As of May 18th, I have started working on my 1/2 Scale WW2 M4A3 Sherman Tank. Moneys tight right now and ION is just days away so its on the back burner while I get things ready for the game. I fixed a leak in the bazooka and fixed up the front sight. Something went wrong with the 98C in the BAR and I had to "modify" the 98C ACT to go into the BAR. So now I have the ACT in the BAR. Woohoo! Gotta wait for a new sear because it used to have an 'e-grip', a.k.a. - pain in the ass! You can follow the progress at my youtube page - iamroguesniper

What's Up?
Mood:  happy

The WW2 Satchel Charge Simulator is done, again. I rebuilt it so it blows smoke. Check out the video in the movie section.  Also, Skirmish is allowing tanks back. I knew the ban wouldn't last long.

What's Up
Mood:  sad
Topic: What's going on?
Bad news! I found out that Skirmish has banned tanks due to them sinking in the field. Hopefully this ban will not last. I talked to Skirmish last year and they showed an intrest in more hedgehogs, but as of yet, I hadn't heard from them. I've been busy planning my wedding so things are a little hecktic at the moment. I 've been working on my Sherman Tank design and I hope to start production this spring. Oh, and I got a new job.

Stuff That's Up!
Mood:  happy
Little something I didn't post was the fact that I was working on the M1A1 Bazooka. Reason? I worked on it straight through for a week and finished it an hour before I left for the game. Here it is. As close to the real one as I could get. Had a little leak but nothing that ruined its performance. Its a little heavy, probably around 25lbs.  I can tell ya one thing, the german tanks were pissed at me! I might make another for next year and piss them off twice as much.

STUFF THAT'S DONE!
Mood:  rushed
Ok. 4 - WW2 "Hedgehog" Beach Obstructions. Complete! WW2 Satchel Charge Simulator. Complete! Pics are in the equipment page. I'll put up a video of the satchel charge just as soon as I get some free time. I've been busy lately. A big change from being layed off.

What's Going On
Mood:  a-ok

This is a WW2 sachel charge. If you seen Windtalkers, you'll know what I'm talking about. Mine doesn't actually explode, but it sure sounds like it. It runs on Co2 or compressed air and has a pull cable "igniter" similar to the WW2 version. I've built and tested the prototype and now I'm waiting for the parts to come. I'm gonna try to figure a way to make it blow smoke when it goes off. I've talked to them, and after I demonstrate it to the people at Skirmish, they will probably let me use it to blow stuff up at the games.

What's Up!
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: What's going on?

It's about the end of Febuary and here is what I have been doing all winter.

The BAR has been fixed, repainter, and is ready to rock!

I'm making head way on the M1A1 Bazooka. It's gonna be heavy. I like it!

I picked up some ammo for it too! 28 rounds! Gotta love ebay! The ones with the whistlers would of been better but the only place you can get them in England for $7 a pop plus $12 shipping on each. SCREW THAT. These cost enough. I expect to NOT get most of them back. Anyone wanna ingame retreiver job? Volunteers always welcome!

Also I finally started working on my "TRUE" Sniper Ghillie Suit. Once I'm done, I'll start in a Stalker Ghillie Suit. I picked up a kit from Ghilliesuits.com while I was at the sportsmans show in Harrisburg, PA earlier this month. Saved $25! It's the Next generation lightweight suit that uses polypropylene string insted of twine or burlap.

Buy a kit and build it yourself like a true sniper.

The Next RSG Project has been anounced!
Mood:  irritated
Topic: What's going on?

My biggest and most expensive project yet. A scale replica of a Sherman tank. Specifically an M4A3 (105mm) at 5/8 scale. I'm tired of seeing a minivan with a hole cut in the roof. That is not a tank! It's a minivan with a hole in the roof! This isn't going to be easy, or cheep. The total cost of building the BAR was ???. This is going to cost $1500-$2000 for the gas powered golf cart alone. Then I need to extend the frame, build the body, and finally, the pain in the ass turret. It will have 3 markers (probably Tippmann 98 ACT's), a 2" anti-tank breach load cannon, and possibly a paint (flame) thrower! To top it all off, their is the problem of the $1100 trailer I need to haul it. If you haven't figured it out by now, I have lots of paintball stuff and because of that, No $. Their will also be a little (Loud)surprise when the tank is hit. In 1995, Bret Golihew built a Sherman "Easy 8" Jumbo for Action Creek Paintball. It looks good, but mine will be better. If you will excuse me, I have to go look for change under the cushions.

DUE TO UNCONTROLLABLE EVENTS, I'M GOING TO HAVE TO POSTPONE THE TANK FOR NOW. INSTED, I WILL BE CONSTRUCTING 1 POSSIBLY 2 M1A1 BAZOOKAS TO USE FOR ANTI-TANK. AS OF RIGHT NOW, THE MAIN CANNON OF THE TANK IS BASICALLY FINISHED AND SITTING IN MY BASEMENT. I HAVE TESTED IT AND IT HAS A 320' RANGE WITH A NERF POCKET VORTEX. THE BAZOOKAS WILL HAVE APROXIMATLY THE SAME RANGE.

What's going on?
Pics and videos are up. Half of the pics that I took didn't come out good because of one screwed up setting on the camera, but the ones that did were great. Not a lot of video footage. I spent a lot more time playing (or sleeping) this year. There is one funny one. Check them out.

What's going on?
Mood:  lazy
The BAR is near completion. I'm not going to post any new pics till it is. I destroyed the valve body in the Tippmann trying to fix a leak so I had to buy a new one. It should be here in a couple of days. I have put up some pics of me in the paratrooper uniform. I was using the M3 Grease gun Tippy that day so it's in the pics. Knock on wood, I'll have the BAR for next Sundays practice.

What's going on?
Mood:  a-ok
The majority of the site had been updated. There are a few pics and videos that I need to put on still, but I'm workin on it. The equipment page has been completely redesigned. I got the grenade filler workin and now have a crate of 24 grenades ready for D-day. And finally, I got my tanks hydrotested so I should be good to go.

I have mounted the rear sight and the butt plate o the BAR. I'll put up a pic once I mount the rear swivel plate. The next step is to work on the trigger, saftey, and the front sight. After that, just the gas tube and tube mount. The end is near! I got my M3 Grease gun kit for the 98C. I broke it already. The hole for the barrel wasn't cut right and the thin part in front cracked. Not a big deal. I also ripped off one of the stock mounts and I don't have any super glue. It isn't too bad but I still have to "finish it" like I did with the Viper kit. I'm gonna do some modifications to it so I can put on a sling. I'm gonna have to run to Lowes.
